聚乙烯醇（PVA）是由聚醋酸乙烯经醇解、水解或氨解而得到的一种水溶性高分子。PVA微球的制备方法主要包括乳液聚合法、悬浮聚合法、沉淀聚合法、熔融分散法等。

PVA分子间存在氢键，具有良好的化学稳定性和热稳定性；分子链上含有羟基，具有较强亲水性、成膜性、乳化性和耐溶剂性；且PVA无毒，具有良好的生物相容性和可降解性。可应用于生物医药、光催化、肝动脉化疗栓塞、肿瘤治疗、血液灌流等领域。
